List of Recommendations on how to foster R&D in VET centers

This deliverable proposes a series of 11 concrete recommendations for vocational training centres (VET) in Europe, to encourage the emergence of research and development (R&D) centres in the field of art and craft. The result of three years’ collaborative work as part of the European MOSAIC project, this report is based on a mixed methodology combining documentary research, interviews, focus groups, questionnaires and an in-depth study visit to INOVEM – a cabinet-making innovation centre integrated into a training establishment in Quebec.
Through an analysis of the Canadian CCTT (Centres collégiaux de transfert de technologie) model, which is still non-existent in Europe, this deliverable highlights the structural, pedagogical and partnership levers that can be used to structure R&D approaches tailored to the realities of VETs. It also examines the current obstacles in the European context: low institutional recognition of applied research, lack of training for teachers, difficulty of anchoring in a coherent ecosystem. By combining field data and case studies, this report outlines a realistic and ambitious roadmap for strengthening innovation in the service of art and craft, their transmission and transformation.
