Luc Venaille, the story of a woodworker rooted in its region
European Project Manager
CMA, Lyon, France

After working for a few years as a Chef, Luc Venaille made a career change to pursue his passion for woodworking. He studied arts and crafts in apprenticeship and got his diploma to become a cabinetmaker. In 2019, he won the regional award “Prix Avenir Métiers d’Art”, a recognition of his talent and dedication.
Today, he runs his own cabinetmaking workshop, where he designs and creates custom-made furniture. His work combines traditional techniques with contemporary design, reflecting both on craftsmanship and creativity.
Luc regularly leads workshops for children, introducing them to the world of woodworks. In partnership with the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA Lyon-Rhône) and the Art Museum (Musée des Beaux Arts) in Lyon, France, he leads educational activities that aim to inspire the next generation of craftmen and craftwomen.
