Would you like to share your expertise, research, professional experience or perspective on the future of Arts & Crafts and VET?
The MOSAIC Journal welcomes contributions from experts, researchers, VET professionals, educators, craftspeople, entrepreneurs and other practitioners working in or interested in the Arts & Crafts and related sectors.
The Journal is an expert publication that aims to encourage knowledge exchange and provide a space for different perspectives. Contributions do not need to be strictly academic: practical experiences, professional reflections, case studies, innovative practices and analyses are also welcome.
Current Journal Issue
Each issue of the Journal focuses on a specific theme. Contributors are invited to submit articles that relate clearly to the topic of the current issue.
- Issue 1 – Exchange and Transmission of Know-How – Closed
Language of practice; tacit and embodied knowledge; learning and transmission; professional trajectories and craftspeople’s voices
- Issue 2 – Neo Craftsmanship – Open for submissions
New forms of craftsmanship; hybridisation with design, art and technology; new identities; social, ecological and economic transformation.
Please make sure that your contribution has a clear connection with the theme of the current issue.
What can you submit?
We welcome different types of contributions, including:
- Expert or professional articles
- Research-based articles and analyses
- Case studies and examples of good practice
- Reflections on current developments or challenges
- Innovative approaches, methods or projects
- Experiences from the Arts & Crafts and VET sectors
- Articles exploring the relationship between craftsmanship, technology, education, sustainability, inclusion or other relevant topics
Contributions should provide useful knowledge, insights or perspectives for professionals and stakeholders interested in the future of Arts & Crafts and VET.
Article requirements
To ensure consistency across the Journal, please follow these guidelines:
- Length: approximately 6,000 characters, including spaces
- Abstract: an abstract of approximately 100 words is mandatory
- Title: please provide a clear and concise title
- Author information: please provide your name, professional position/organisation and a short author biography
- Images and graphic materials: photographs, illustrations, diagrams, charts and other visual materials are welcome
- Videos: links to relevant videos may also be included
- Sources and references: please identify and reference any external sources, data or quotations used in the article
- Originality: submissions should be original contributions and should not reproduce content published elsewhere without the appropriate authorisation
Please ensure that you have the necessary rights or permissions to use any photographs, illustrations, videos or other materials included in your submission.
How does the submission process work?
1. Prepare your article
Write your contribution according to the guidelines above and make sure that it is clearly connected to the theme of the current Journal issue.
2. Complete the submission form
Submit your article and the requested information through the online Submission Form.
3. Publication
Once accepted and finalised, the article may be published in the relevant issue of the MOSAIC Journal on the CraftingTheFuture Observatory.
